about

This piece was produced using only natural sounds of found metal objects: Scrap metal, Aluminum tubes, kitchen pan lids, Bundt cakepan, bowls, saucers, windchimes, cheap crappy cymbals, misc doodads, plus 2 Glass windchimes and 1 Cut Glass snifter

Each object was played in 1 take, solo without listening to any of the other tracks, using a click at 96 bpm. Each object’s decay time dictated how frequently it was struck. As you will hear, a lot of synchronicity occurred. Very little cutting/editing was done. Plenty of effects processing and mixing were.

Dancing our way through Rich Textured Layers of Melody and Harmony, Tectonic Rhythms, and Cataclysmic Horizons, we blend in (and put our own stamp on) a few choice covers drawn from a wide spectrum of influences. ... more
